 As an educator and a therapist, I have noticed very positive gains made for students and families when intensive efforts are made to seriously explore the nature of a child’s difficulty at school. When students, parents, teachers and other concerned parties work together — intensively and collaboratively — to help the student succeed, I have noticed dramatic changes, often in a short period of time. I founded Academic and Behavioral Center to help facilitate this process. I have been working with children professionally in the educational and mental health fields in Tucson for over 15 years. I have worked directly in residential treatment, psychiatric hospital, clinical outpatient, drug treatment, and school settings at every grade level. I received a B.A in education from the University of Arizona in 1990 and a Masters in Clinical Social Work from Arizona State University in 1997. I am licensed by the City of Tucson, the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health, and the Arizona Board of Education. Currently Academic & Behavioral Center contracts with 5 local public and charter schools in addition to clients seen through private pay and insurance plans.
